WSOP 2018 Season
There are two sessions that make up the WSOP 2018 season. WSOPA session will run from October 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Regional qualifiers for this session will be held during the week of January 14th. WSOPB session will run from January 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018. Regional qualifiers for this session will be held during the week of April 8th. The top 30% of people who earn points throughout a session at each tournament, will qualify for a regional event. If you cannot make your assigned regional, you may request to attend an alternate, but you must make the request at least 24 hours before your assigned regional event. The winner of each regional event will receive a $500 bonus chip to be awarded at the State Tournament. The top ten finishers from each regional event will move on to the State Tournament.
The Champion of each location (point leader) during each session, will still receive auto-entry to the State Tournament and is not required to qualify though a Regional Qualifier Tournament. If a player is the Champion of multiple locations, they will be rewarded with a $500 bonus chip for each additional location. For example, if a player is the Champion of three locations during the course of the season, they will receive auto-entry to the State Tournament, as well as $1000 in bonus chips. Bar champions will only be declared for venues that held at least six (6) tournaments in a session.
REGION CHANGES
Regions are changing. We have renamed and redistributed the bars into four new regions. This was done to create regions based on location with the addition of multiple bars in 2017. The new Regions are as follows:
• Hearts Region – Country Nites, Carbone’s Cottage Grove, Jersey’s Sports Bar, Park Place Sports Bar
• Diamond Region – Chanhassen American Legion, The PourHouse Pub, Detour 19, Medina Entertainment Center
• Clubs Region – Barnboard Bar and Grill, Mama T’s Castle Tap, White Bear Bar, Schuggy’s American Grill and Taphouse, Big Guy’s BBQ Roadhouse, The Tilted Tiki
• Spades Region – Cedarvale Lanes/Fitz’s Bar and Grill, Casper’s Cherokee Steakhouse, The Lodge/Stage 81, Palmer Lake VFW
The WSOP 2018 season is made up of State Tournament will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Running Aces. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the tournament will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. This event may only be attended by those who qualified for the event through one of the Regional Tournaments or those who won entry through the All-in for Africa event. The full list of those who are qualified to participate in the event will be posted below the prize pool information.
